Mixamatosis
Myself and two of my friends have been planning this for awhile. finally its happening. On the 24th of this month we will be running our own club night in Manchester. I’ve been thinking long and hard about the branding. I’ve already made a few errors with the flyers too, but lessons have learnt.
I’ve found recently I’ve been doing a lot of print work. I must admit I’m loving it. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the Mixamatosis stuff develops. I’ve already got some great ideas and can’t wait to do the next flyers.
The branding so far
I also did a basic website, so what were the lessons? Basically, make sure your artwork is a thick stroke!!! Also, its not really a good idea to use black backgrounds on flyers that will mostly be handed out at night!!
Its fun trying to think of creative marketing ideas for the club night, trying to think of ways of how to make our night stand out from the rest. Bending the rules slightly and thinking outside the box is a must! especially as we have no budget!! Hopefully the night will go well though and we can start to make it of a monthly event. It also nice to get a chance to DJ!!
If your in the Uk join our facebook group, if your in the north-west maybe even come down to the night.
At the roadhouse in Manchester city centre, £2.50 in, 11pm - 2.30am

nostalgic games
I’m now 23 years old! A conversation with a my friend of 19 years moved to talking about our childhood and then the games that hold so much memories with us. I’m talking about computer games. I want to pay nostalgic tribute.
My 5 Nostalgic games!!
5.Paperboy
This game would make your brains boil, the “innovative” perspective made this game killer even though it did make a boy from my school permanently cross-eyed.
4.European club soccer
The made-up rule in this game was “no taking it round the keeper”. Classic game, just because u could actually dance with the ball.
3.Sensible Soccer
Recently voted the best game ever. I’d reference that but I can’t remember where I saw it. I’d agree, however I didn’t really have the game. My friend did, so I only got to play it round his house. So thats why it doesn’t have my greatest affections. Way ahead of its time though. I reckon this was the first game to hazard a young boys social skills progression.
2.Mario 3
This game, god damn. All the early mario games delivered. Mario 3 was one of them. Just looking at the cartridge brings a tear to my eye. One of my childhood friends, so many good times.
1.Zelda
The mother of them all. The game came with a pullout map. How ace!! The little 2d adventure tooks many hour’s away from me when I should be climbing tree’s and playing doctor/nurses with the girl next door.

My Last Day at Flame Digital
This makes a change, something actually worth writing about. So the news is that I’m moving to London to join another design agency called Spring Digital. The company’s based in Farringdon and I’ll be starting there in a few weeks. Meantime I’ll be off to Ibiza to chill out.
Spring got in touch with me through this web site and sold the exciting opportunity to me. Its sounds like the challenge I so desperately need at the moment. I’ve been at Flame Digital for 3 years and 2 months now. I was the 2nd full-time member of staff. These days Flame are one of the leading digital agency’s in the north-west. The staff number is now at around 20. I’m very proud to have been part of that growth. Now its time for another adventure. I’d like to thank Flame for teaching me how the industry works. Special thanks to Jon, Dom, Nicky and Jim, and everyone else at Flame who I’ve irritated along the way.
To everyone at Spring! Hello!

Berlin!!
I’ve been in Germany for the past 5 days. I spent the majority of it in Berlin, spent some time in Bremen and Hamburg too. Berlin is such an emotional place, history in every corner. I’d recommend you to visit and see for yourself. Here’s some iphone (shitty camera) pictures. Oh and I bumped in Quentin Tarantino standing round a campfire but I’m not a name dropper obviously.
